Little Flower Province, Bangalore

Little Flower Province, Bangalore of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) was erected on 9 December 2002. It was part of the region that was bifurcated from the Province of Tezpur in 1997. Considering the geographical vastness and better administration, the region was divided into two provinces in 2002. Hence, two provinces came into existence with its headquarters at Bangalore and Kolkata. On 11 February 2003 Sr. Bridget Jacob was installed as the first Provincial Superior of Bangalore. The Province had 70 professed members and 15 communities which were spread across thirteen dioceses situated in four southern states: Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh.

The Sisters carry out enthusiastically the primary mission of the Congregation through village tour, family visits, social welfare activities, care for orphans and aged, and education. The changing scenario of the Church’s insertion into the life of the common people in this region has inspired the Province to re-orient its charism and mission incarnating the compassionate love of Jesus. In response to the needs of the time, it has been venturing into other ministries. Seeing the plight of women, girls and children, the most vulnerable groups of the society, it has undertaken various programmes which enable them to draw strength and live a life of dignity.
